Seymour is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) that spans across Blount and Sevier counties in Tennessee, United States. According to the 2020 U.S. census, the population of the CDP was recorded at 14,705. As part of the Knoxville, Tennessee Metropolitan Statistical Area, Seymour enjoys a strategic location in the region.

The roots of Seymour can be traced back to its origin as Newell’s Station, established by Samuel Newell, a pioneering figure in early Sevier County, in 1783. Notably, the first court of Sevier County, State of Franklin, convened at Newell’s Station in March 1785. Throughout the 19th century, the community became known as Trundles Crossroads due to its location where the primary road from Sevierville split into two branches—one leading northward to Knoxville and the other westward to Maryville. Today, this intersection corresponds to Boyds Creek Highway and Old Sevierville Pike.

On December 18, 1909, a significant milestone in Seymour’s history occurred with the completion of the Knoxville, Sevierville, and Eastern Railway. In honor of Charles Seymour, the chief engineer of the railway, the community’s station was named Seymour. Subsequently, the Trundles Crossroads Post Office also adopted the new name, commemorating this important development in the area.
